Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is looking for a Superintendent to work on various projects in the Richmond/Hampton Roads area.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with a large scale heavy civil contractor or equivalent industry experience

  • In depth knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment and manpower

  • Ability to lead field operations with effective decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities

  • Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and maintenance

  • In-depth understanding of local, state and federal construction regulations

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Must pass pre-employment physical/drug screening

Responsibility:

  • Schedule, supervise and monitor construction to meet or exceed the project schedule and budget

  • Encourages and/or participates in staff training and development

  • Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, other construction management to determine budget and timeline

  • Develop a project schedule, sequence of work, and monitory daily productivity

  • Have a working knowledge of owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders

  • Supervise field work force to assure safety, production and budget requirements are met

  • Coordinate materials and equipment delivery to ensure long-lead and critical-path items are on-site

  • Maintain a daily log for the job site's operations, reporting to management as necessary

  • Assure punch list is completed in a timely manner
