The Marbridge Foundation is currently hiring a full-time summer camp coordinator to supervise and support a rotating group of adults with intellectual disabilities as they get to experience what life at Marbridge is really like!

This role will be the point of contact for summer camp counselors and camper families and responsible for ensuring a successful camp experience each week.

Schedule:

• Sunday: 2:00pm-6:00pm and Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-5:00pm

Training for Summer camp begins the week of June 5th. Summer camp runs from June 12th through July 24th with the week of July 4th off.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with reviewing time clock punches of summer camp counselors
• Assist the admissions department in creating camp rosters for each camp session
• Create weekly schedules for each camp session
• Create and implement camp counselor training
• Create a camper binder for each camp session prior to the new campers arriving
• Complete check-in process with each camper’s family during drop-off
• Provide all needed groceries, house items, and craft supplies weekly or as needed
• Turn in van mileage logs weekly to the accounting department
• Request, balance, and submit petty cash each Tuesday following petty cash procedures
• Responsible for the safe keeping of petty cash, training camp counselors on petty cash procedures, and managing the budget for allowable counselor expenses while on outings.
• Create a positive work environment for all staff and assist in any conflict/resolution situations as needed; involve supervisor and human resources when needed.
• Resolve any staff coverage issues as needed (getting other staff to cover or filling in yourself)
• Report ALL incidents involving campers or staff to the director of admissions
• Provide pictures of each camp session via CD or flash drive to the development team weekly
• Be available by phone 24 hours a day while camp is in session
• Ensure the camp house is left in good condition each Friday; i.e. dishes are washed, linens are washed, beds are made, etc.
• Complete camp wrap-up duties including: packing up the camp house, turning in all paperwork, turning in all petty cash and receipts, etc.
• Assist with distributing camper medication packets at prescribed times
• Ensures that medication is properly dispensed and taken

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment, and facilities
• Maintain good public relations with summer camper’s parents/families
• Must be CPR and First Aide certified (training will be provided)

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• At least one year’s experience working with youth or adults with intellectual disabilities preferred
• Must be 21 years of age with a valid Texas Driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Emotionally mature, good moral character, and strong integrity
• Enjoyment of the outdoors

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Will work in a summer camp home environment, inside classrooms, outdoor settings, swimming pool, with horses and may involve taking the campers into the community.

• Supervising: 1 year (Preferred)
• Summer Camp: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
