ROYCE' Chocolate Store Manager position at Westfield Valley Fair Mall in San Jose, CA.

Who we are:

ROYCE' Chocolate is a high-end Japanese confectionery brand with a growing business and following in the U.S. This is store manager position at our Westfield Valley Fair Mall location in San Jose, CA. ROYCE' stores in California and Nevada are operated by Jalux Americas, Inc.

Summary of Responsibilities: Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for overall management of the store, staff, merchandising and customer service. The Store Manager is also responsible for driving his or her team to achieve sales objectives, maintaining and achieving high operational and merchandising standards and goals, building highly motivated teams, and developing associates to the next level.

Sales

Analyze available sales data to determine the needs of the business and set business tactics. Continuously motivate sales staff to meet assigned sales and productivity goals. Support the development of associates’ sales techniques, ensuring utilization of elevated levels of sales and service to maximize sales. Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the merchandise to ensure selling staff is fluent in all aspects of product knowledge. Demonstrate sales leadership for staff by playing an active role on the selling floor. Collaborate with supervisor to identify marketing and promotion opportunities to enhance sales.

Customer Service

Ensure all associates provide the highest level of customer service. Ensure staff proactively attends to customers and are always attentive and responsive. Resolve all customer problems and complaints quickly and effectively. Manage all special events inclusive of product launches, sale events and center events, etc. Empower associates to make decisions in the customer’s best interest that also support the Company’s philosophy.

Operations

Ensure store maintenance, presentation, and organization. Ensure cash control procedures are properly followed including bank deposits, safe funds and petty cash. Control store expenses and maintain budgets. Schedule associates to maintain adequate floor coverage while maintaining payroll budgets. Ensure deliveries are properly processed in a timely manner. Monitor the movement of all inventories and ensure that staff adheres to all Shipping/Receiving policies and procedures. Meet inventory accuracy and shrink requirements. Ensure staff is trained in all areas of appropriate register usage and maintenance, and properly execute all register functions. Support efforts for loss prevention in all areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, and inventory management. Build and maintain good communication with members of corporate office, mall office and other stores. Exhibit proficiency in computer programs used by the company, including Microsoft Excel and Word.

Merchandising/ Visual

Implement and maintain all merchandising directives and ensure execution of effective merchandising strategies. Work with supervisor to ensure appropriate assortment for the store. Ensure the selling floor is neat, clean, always organized and reflects the correct visual image. Ensure presentation of all displays, fixtures and all visual areas are reflective of current visual direction. Identify and communicate product concerns in a timely manner. Communicate inventory needs to support the business goal.

People Development

Recruit, train, and develop staff ensuring all positions are filled in a timely manner with qualified personnel. Support, implement and provide follow-up for all training activities. Continually evaluate the performance of each associate and provide constant feedback to ensure results. Resolve all human resource issues in a timely and effective manner, working closely with company’s HR department. Ensure image and grooming standards are professional, reflective of the brand image and always adhered to.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years retail experience with 1-year supervisory experience.
College degree or equivalent experience
Strong business acumen, communication, and interpersonal skills
Japanese or Chinese language ability is a plus, but not essential
Passionate about chocolate and sweets!

Flexibility in work schedule is required including the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as operational need may require.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $44,000 - $50,000
