Job Title: Store Manager
Reports To: Store Owner
FLSA Status: Exempt
Effective Date: Immediate/when candidate is available to start
Salary: Market Rate + Quarterly Bonus
Hours: 35-45/week depending on the season
Benefits: 1 week paid time off (after 1 year of service)
Job Summary:
The Store Manager (SM) will regularly exercise discretion in managing the
overall operation of the store—you must be a decision maker and a
delegator as well as a doer! A majority of time is spent supervising and directing
the workforce, making staffing decisions, and running the overall day to day operation of the store. The SM is responsible for keeping labor overhead and food costs down while increasing sales. Will be responsible for customer satisfaction, team member supervision, scheduling, merchandising, quality control, and maintaining a well-trained team. Flexibility, strong communication skills, leadership, and the desire to provide an excellent experience for customers is crucial to success in this position.
Essential Functions: (Encompassing but not limited to)
1. Leadership – set goals and model how to achieve success in all aspects of
store operations. Constantly review store environment and key business
indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
2. Growth – identify, develop and implement strategies to increase
profitability. i.e. corporate sales, hotel marketing, catering, take-it-home, and fudge
sales.
3. Demonstrate a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual
events and manage smooth transitions thereafter to keep store operating to
standards and to set a positive example for the store team.
4. Promote Kilwins Best Practices for building customer relationships and
growing the business. Exceptional hospitality is a top priority.
5. Maintain an excellent store atmosphere, functionality, and appearance by
paying attention to inventory, cleanliness, and positive attitudes.
6. Manage with integrity, honesty and fairness.
7. Office organizational skills & POS management
8. Quarterly inventory management & quality control
9. Corporate and outside gift sales management including use of CRM
10. Oversee the hiring, training, and scheduling all team members by Team
Manager. Ensure proper paperwork and filing is done by Team Manager.
11. Follow corporate marketing plan and installation/take down of promo
displays (POP).
12. Address issues with team in a timely, respectful and professional manner.
Expect professional behavior from staff…nip grooming issues, cell phone use,
gossip, negativity, scheduling issues, etc in the bud.
13. Defrost ice cream cases, maintain and organize freezers, manage deliveries
from kitchen & waffle cone baking/scheduling.
14. Assist in managing inventory, placing orders to KQC and non-KQC
vendors and keep close tabs on what is profitable. Manage daily packaging
needs and assist with deliveries/restocking.
15. Work with kitchen staff to achieve changing inventory needs, ensure
adherence to corporate recipes and food safety guidelines, and quality control.
Manage production of special, corporate, and holiday orders.
16. Holidays, most weekends, and special event shifts are mandatory. In the
event of your absence on weekends/special events, must have adequate team
in place including Team Leader.
17. Manage day sheets, banking deposits, POS drawers, and change orders.
18. Manage maintenance of appliances; freezers, dipping cases, walk-in
coolers, etc. with regularly scheduled appointments to address issues, filters,
cleaning etc.
19. Manage technology including computers, scales, and POS systems.
20. Manage general cleaning duties daily, weekly, monthly and annually as
needed; daily and deep cleaning is a priority.
21. Excellent communication with team members and guests.
22. Attend Kilwins Chocolates Franchise regional webinars twice annually and
browse KCF Friday Spotlight for new information, ideas, and general
franchise news
23. Communicate with Owner in regularly scheduled weekly
Leadership:
- Act as a mentor and lead by example for the development of team members. By being
proficient in all areas of operation, it becomes the responsibility of the General
Manager to educate, train, retrain, and develop team members.

· COG: 29% of sales or lowering (including paper and delivery)
· Labor: 16% of sales or lower
· Sales Growth: 3% or higher
· Fudge Sales: 15% or higher
· Store cleanliness (must be ready every day for Kilwins Corporate to come visit and do their 5 star review)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
