In this role, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. To be preferred for this position, you will need to have a complex understanding Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.Key responsibilities
- Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
- Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
- Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
- Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
- Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
- Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
- Participate in various department-wide initiatives
- Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
- Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
- Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
- In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
- Efficient in ERP systems
- Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
- Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Solid understanding of Sage Accounting Software
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
- Recent and relevant accounting experience
