As our agency continues to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team.

Job Summary:

As a Staff Accountant at Kingsgate Insurance, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. You will be responsible for handling a wide range of accounting duties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
  • Prepare and post general ledger entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Prepare and file tax returns and other regulatory documents as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve efficiency.
  • Stay current with accounting best practices, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software and systems, such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus but not required.
