Job description
The Staff Accountant role will include month end closing responsibilities, account analysis and ad hoc projects as required. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the Finance team by providing a superior customer experience through accurate and timely performance, issue resolution, and process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform month end closing responsibilities including recording journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis.
- Implement and maintain internal controls
- Collaborate with business partners to resolve any disputes/issues on invoices.
- Perform bank reconciliations and assist in cash forcasts
- Take full responsibility for timeliness, completeness, and accuracy in meeting metric goals
- Communicate in a timely manner to leadership team any issues e.g. process / systems failures
- Strong focus on process improvement and ability to author, review and/or modify processes to improve service levels and provide for proper documentation in support of accounting policies
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right the first time
- Assist with audit requests
- Ad hoc requests as required
Skills/ Experience:
- Team player with the ability to work independently and multi-task as required
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS Office required; QuickBooks preferred
- Unquestionable ethics and integrity
- BA or BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
