We are currently hiring a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Lead, Ingredients, in Cincinnati, OH OR Breinigsville, PA.

*Please note this role will be full-time onsite at our brewery

The Sr Strategic Sourcing Lead, Ingredients, contributes to Boston Beer’s success by defining, develop, and implement categories sourcing strategies for ingredient categories while simultaneously building solid relationships with both internal business partners and external suppliers. The Strategic Sourcing Lead will negotiate contracts with complex requirements and meet internal stakeholder objectives while achieving maximum overall cost effectiveness. The Strategic Sourcing Lead will also manage the supplier relationships and resolve any unforeseen problems with suppliers relating to operations, purchasing or quality/performance and driving suppliers to higher levels of performance.

What You'll Brew:

• Drives Concept to Contract activities to include the following:
  • Develop and maintain category plans that identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, identifies and drive cost savings projects, manage risk, drive innovation, and ensure the continuous development of categories managed
  • Strategically sources suppliers for development and roll-out using the Request for Proposal (RFP) process
  • Performs Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis
  • Works with internal business partners and suppliers to drive ingredient specifications creation and changes
  • Proactively drives and manages procurement strategies to meet current and future business requirements
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations
  • Gains alignment with business partners on requirements and risks
  • Communicates project timelines and budget
  • Ensures that the final product or service meets business partner requirements
  • Interfaces cross-functionally to drive value across the supply chain
  • Understands supplier capabilities, competencies, and cost; able to effectively represent these trade-offs to the internal business partner
  • Leads the negotiation and implementation of master supply agreements in partnership with legal
• Drives Procure to Pay activities to include the following:
  • Communicates annual plans to supply base
  • Resolves quality or delivery disputes with supplier
  • Ensures seamless delivery of goods or services to Boston Beer
  • Monitors contract inventory for zero out of stocks
  • Troubleshoots order fulfillment issues
  • Executes and makes recommendations on supplier and BBC’s key performance indicators
  • Initiates and facilitates supplier business review to drive improvement and manage suppliers
  • Manages corrective action requests related to supplier performance and/or quality
  • Serves as primary contact for supplier issues
  • Streamline procurement processes, including streamlining processes with suppliers

What Ingredients You’ll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4+ years with Purchasing, Supply Chain Management
• 4+ years in Direct Buying, Contract Negotiations, Supplier Management, and/or Project Management experience
• 4+ years Cross-functional Team Management Experience
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word
• Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field, or the equivalent relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP experience a plus
• Worked within an ERP/MRP Environment
• Business spend management and SAP knowledge would be beneficial
• Proven experience in leading contract supply agreement negotiations
• Category Strategic Sourcing 9 Steps knowledge a plus
