SR. PAYROLL SPECIALIST:

The Sr. Payroll Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee new hires, timesheets, payroll changes, and terminations. As a payroll point of contact, this position will assist in processing a bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1700 hourly/salary employees.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Collecting time sheet data and payroll information
• Entering data into payroll administrative databases and software programs
• Calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions
• Preparing and processing paychecks and deposits
• Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll
• Preparing periodic payroll reports
• Processing out-of-cycle payroll checks
• Participate in payroll and 401K audits
• The qualified candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, ensuring that payments and government reports are disbursed timely and accurately.

Requirements

Associate's degree in business or related field and minimum of two years direct payroll experience. Related experience of 3 to 5 years will be considered in place of degree. The Payroll Associate should actively support the philosophy of the Agency and maintain a high level of commitment to program staff. Candidates should be meticulous and detail-oriented; able to prioritize work; be self-initiated; have an open, direct interpersonal style; be able to work well with a large variety of people; be organized, efficient and flexible; contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
