We are seeking a highly motivated team player to join the Jackson Lewis (JL) IT Risk and Security Team as a Senior Information Governance Analyst. Reporting directly to the Director of IT Risk and Security, this role will be responsible for the continued development of the JL Data Governance program, facilitating working group meetings, and managing administrative data governance processes. The Senior Analyst will be expected to quickly understand the firm's systems, vendors, products, and business lines.

The Senior Information Governance Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the standardization of data governance practices across Jackson Lewis, educating teams across the company to establish common data literacy, and guiding and assisting with operationalizing the Data Governance processes for functional data domains.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce data governance policy and standards regarding the management and use of data in the organization. Identify a control framework and processes to ensure data quality, traceability, usability, and compliance with privacy policies and regulations.
  • Maintain a detailed catalog of the data architecture and data assets in use throughout the company classified by type, source, and potentially other factors
  • Research business processes and related data assets, profile data types in use in each business area, and moderate discussions with stakeholders on data governance and transformation requirements
  • Act as chair of the JL Data Governance Councils; define and agree on responsibilities of business data owners/stewards, data consumers and technical owners who make up the membership
  • Mature data quality capabilities, enabling rapid and automated data quality checks across all data domains, enhance management information to provide needed transparency and hold owners accountable for their data
  • Prepare materials and present to auditors and other examiners as needed
  • Ensure that the firm’s data follows the compliance, access management and control policies of the company while meeting data governance requirements
  • Work with technical groups to support the collection, integration, and retention of data sources
  • Apply techniques to assess data quality in databases and propose remediation where possible
  • Interpret and communicate results in a manner accessible to stakeholders. Apply data visualization and summarization techniques to analytical results
  • Ensure that all systems in the organization are aligned toward achieving the overall strategic goals.
  • Evaluate business requirement documents for new systems as needed
  • Develop effective relationships across a range of office control functions to achieve mutual goals

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an Engineering discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in data governance, data quality analysis, or data architecture function at a Big 4 or equivalent consulting firm, financial institution, or a FinTech company
  • Strong understanding of the principles of IT security and data protection (e.g. GDPR).
  • Excellent understanding of data concepts and experience in data management capabilities including data lineage, data definitions and data quality management (data profiling, data discovery, root cause analysis, designing and implementing automated DQ solutions)
  • Understanding of, and/or experience in other data related capabilities including data architecture, data analytics, data modelling, self-assessment, policy assurance, quality assurance and control testing.
  • Basic relational database understanding
  • Strategic perspective, knowing how work relates to the organization's overall business strategy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to relay facts, figures, and ideas to all levels of organization.
  • Ability to lead and champion efforts to increase productivity and goal accomplishment throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and develop strong working relationships with Senior Leaders globally through effective leadership, communication and change management process
  • Ability to collaborate and foster teamwork with immediate team members and colleagues from across the organization
  • Client focused, and able to anticipate and respond to changing industry trends, having both market knowledge and a point of view with regard to what high quality, trustworthy data looks like

For Westchester County, the expected salary range for this position is between $ 125,000 and $ 165,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Pay: $80,971.03 - $163,652.28 per year
