Summary

The Senior HR Business Partner will provide strategic and tactical HR support to drive business growth. The Sr. HRBP will work closely with leadership teams and provide expert HR advice and coaching to drive and support their business objectives. Efforts are focused on driving a high-performance culture built upon trust and transparency. The role is key in reinforcing the Human Resources function as a trusted advisor and business partner to the organization. This position requires strong credibility and consultative partnership abilities across all levels of the organization, including senior executives. This position is a role-model for all employees and leads by example by demonstrating behaviors aligned with Goddard’s mission to make the world a better place through early childhood education.

This role is a unique opportunity to work directly with a seasoned CHRLO, and be a key partner in the continued evolution of the HR function as a strategic business partner.

Location: Philadelphia is preferred – open to Baltimore, Washington DC, and Charlotte locations

Responsibilities

  • HRBP will work closely with leadership teams and provide expert advice and coaching to drive and support their business objectives
  • Provides strategic advice, counsel and consultative solutions to leaders on people management aspects of their business to include organizational design, workforce planning, implementation of talent management initiatives/programs, annual HR processes, position definitions, compensation analysis/market reviews.
  • Develops and drive human capital strategies; ensuring understanding and alignment to business strategy, budget, opportunities and company priorities.
  • Establishes and maintains effective, collaborative and consultative working relationships with leaders and develops a deep understanding of the business.
  • Partners with leaders on talent strategies and initiatives and facilitates talent calibration, talent reviews, and succession planning.
  • Partners with leaders to perform organizational diagnostics and to assess team member engagement and productivity.
  • Guides and coaches managers on how to appropriately manage and resolve complex HR issues (e.g., performance management/improvement and total rewards)
  • Partners with Talent Management and HR Operations teams to ensure an optimal employee experience.
  • Identifies trends and proactively recommends solutions to improve performance, retention, and the employee experience.
  • Serves as a change agent in partnering with leaders leveraging the company’s change management methodologies.
  • Leverages best practices and identifies opportunities for efficiency.
  • Collaborates as an active member of the broader team, providing innovative ideas to support continuous improvement and organizational impact.

Experience and Competencies

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Human Resources, HR related field, or Business Administration
  • Minimum 5 years experience in multiple HR business partner roles, preferably with at least one role with compensation responsibilities.
  • Utilizes a consultative approach with leaders and colleagues when diagnosing needs and solutions.
  • Solid exposure to managing diverse employee relations matters.
  • Highly organized and effective at managing multiple priorities with ease
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Exceptional communication skills – verbal and written and ability to synthesize information easily into PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability balancing organizational and individual needs.
  • Strong process orientation
  • Proficiency with MS office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), including TEAMs
  • Proficiency with human capital management system technologies.

Highly Desired

  • Experience supporting VPs or C-suite is preferred.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring leaders in an informal or formal setting
  • Ability to analyze data and propose methods for continuous improvement.
  • Experience collaborating across other functions to support or lead core projects/initiatives.
  • Solid project management abilities to ensure effective execution of initiatives
  • Demonstrates ongoing/active learning – staying abreast of current people practice trends and exercising intellectual curiosity.
  • Working knowledge of UKG preferred.
  • Certified-Professional in Human Resources (PHR) - HRCI Human Resource Certification Institute a plus
