The University at Buffalo seeks multiple Sr. Digital & Graphic Design Associates. The successful candidates are highly motivated, creative, well-versed in digital technologies, thrive in a fast-paced, enterprising environment; and demonstrates sharp organizational and project management skills.
  • One role will focus on designing strategic Internal Communications and developing creative solutions to promote UB’s Research Enterprise externally and across the university to increase the visibility of flagship research and economic development activities. This role reports to the Research and Economic Development unit.
  • [CANCELLED] One role will focus on designing B2B marketing communications, with the goal of increasing visibility of the Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships (BEP) brand, capabilities, services and offerings. This role reports to the Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships unit.

Both will collaborate with and be part of a dynamic marketing and communications team who have a passion for teamwork.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and deploy branded content to integrate into web, social, email, print, presentations, video, etc. to meet team’s goals and leverage marketing technologies and visuals to story tell.
  • Maintain technical web assets, owning enhancements, production and updates in our CMS; troubleshoot issues with UB’s IT and web teams.
  • Collaborate with marketing and stakeholders to develop creative briefs, project scope and strategies to meet organizational objectives.
  • Lead integrated email campaign coordination; proactively maintain a production, review and sign-off schedule, collaborating with colleagues to ensure timely and appropriate deployments.
  • Organize and maintain digital and creative files; coordinate sustainable asset management across our office.
  • Coordinate branded assets to meet team members’ needs for promotional and presentation initiatives.
  • Develop, communicate and enforce UB’s brand guidelines across all creative applications.
  • Coordinate with external vendors (production, print, web, etc.).
  • Assist with setup and activities to review analytics and implement changes to engage, convert and grow traffic.
  • Increasing brand consistency across all creative assets. Develop brand guidelines, communicate, and enforce UB guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BA degree in communications, marketing, design, or other business-related field and 1 year related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong graphic design skills.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated marketing or advertising design experience.
  • Experience with content management systems, responsive web design, and web accessibility guidelines; knowledge of basic HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms.
  • Knowledge of integrated marketing strategies, information architecture and user-friendly design.
  • Efficient, outcome-driven; ability to be nimble, accept feedback and iterate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated proficiency with teamwork and problem-solving.

Physical Demands

Salary Range
$56,000 - $60,000

Work Hours
8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
