Be Accountable and Responsible

As our Sr. Copy & Content Strategist you will have the opportunity to impact MERGE's business and growth significantly. As part of the content team, you will be responsible for content planning, content architecture, and writing, focusing on marketing health system clinical service lines. Content planning includes developing and evaluating the detailed information architecture (IA) for enterprise-level website builds. Working with the user experience (UX) design team, the IA will organize content effectively to enhance user experiences and provide efficient navigation of our clients' websites, especially those in hospital and health system settings.

An integrated approach to improve user experiences is key for any successful website, and especially the focus of this role on health system clients. Responsibilities include determining gaps in existing web properties that prohibit a comprehensive health system experience - from diagnosis through recovery. In addition, web content best practices writing and editing for healthcare-focused accounts will be part of the Content Marketing Architect's responsibilities - communicating services and differentiators to various audiences through effective copywriting to convert audiences to action. Copywriting assignments will cover original, expanded, or revised content and will likely include interviewing subject matter experts or clinical leadership teams and research on healthcare topics to inform writing.

Examples of assignments include:

  • Execution and evaluation of detailed information architectures (IA)
  • Gap analysis and website audits of existing digital properties
  • Web content writing for healthcare clients
  • Service-line specific writing (ex: cardiovascular, orthopedics, cancer, etc.)
  • Blogs (ex: disease prevention screenings or healthy living tips)
  • Infographics for service-line needs (ex: ER vs. Urgent Care)

Other responsibilities

  • Ability to write keyword-rich and search-engine-optimized content based on best practices, including metadata development
  • Write clear marketing copy to promote our client products/services (blog, social media, banners, and web)
  • For hospital and health system writing, assignments generally do not include detailed clinical information (ex: health encyclopedia)

These are the qualifications we're looking for

  • Minimum of five years of related healthcare and or hospital-focused content planning and writing experience
  • Knowledge across health system clinical services and patient journeys
  • Experience in content planning from a comprehensive health system perspective from diagnosis through recovery across service lines
  • Experience interviewing subject matter experts and clinical leadership
  • Advanced grammar, spelling, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects from inception through execution
  • Very efficient organizational skills and solid communications skills – verbal and written
  • Proactive attitude with solid decision-making skills and excellent time management skills
  • Flexible and collaborative
