Caribbean Haven in Ventura, CA is looking for a Specialty Cook to join our strong team. We are located on 1780 S Victory Ave Ste E. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, punctual, and reliable.

Responsibilities:

• Seeking someone with high potential that can become an integral part of our business
• Ability to prepare and cook Caribbean (Latin, Indian, Chinese, and African influences), American and Filipino recipes to our quality and presentation standards. Don't know how? We will teach you.
• Innovate, if it moves you
• Read, write, and follow food specifications and menu guidelines in English
• Handle fish, shrimp, beef, pork, poultry, and other food products
• Convert recipes into large quantities for production
• Work assigned schedule which may include multiple shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Set-up and break down workstation
• Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
• Fill-in in other areas when necessary

Qualifications

*Proven working experience as a cook *Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils *Strong attention to detail *Ability to listen and communicate effectively

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $18.00 - $20.00/hour.
