What you'll do...

The Finance Specialist role will support the disputes team, a division within the Financial Services department of H&R Block. The disputes team plays a vital role in supporting claims processing for our financial product offerings including both our prepaid and debit card platforms. The disputes team is responsible for investigating and resolving disputes and ensuring our clients receive prompt and accurate case resolution. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Finance Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for processing fraud claims and disputes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Range: $19-$23/hour


Responsibilities:

  • Independently investigate and process fraud claims and disputes in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Analyze and review all relevant information to make accurate decisions on claims and disputes
  • Communicate with customers, internal departments, and external vendors to gather information and resolve issues
  • Ensure all required documentation is obtained and processed accurately
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of claims and disputes
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills

What you'll bring to the team...

  • 0 - 2 years’ experience in financial services/banking preferred or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in fraud detection, investigations, or related field
  • Knowledge of Reg E requirements
  • Experience in Financial Services/Banking
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.

Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
