Pinecrest Academy of Northern Nevada is seeking a highly qualified, experienced and dynamic Special Education Teacher to serve at our Kindergarten through 8th grade campus beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. Reporting to the School Principal, we are seeking applicants who will be actively engaged and involved beyond the classroom as a member of a student-centered, STEAM-focused, dynamic school community.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

  • Teaching language arts, mathematics science and social studies in collaboration with classroom general education teachers within a thematic-based curriculum that integrates the arts and technology
  • Fostering the development of the whole child by guiding and supporting the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and ethical development of our students
  • Serving on committees and possible involvement in tutoring, club sponsorship and/or summer and after-school enrichment programs

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Experience with differentiated instruction, reading/writing instruction, using data to form instruction, flexible groupings and interactive instruction that is mindful of learning styles
  • The ability to form collaborative and supportive working relationships with their grade-level team members as well as subject specialists
  • A growth mindset & strong ethical principles
  • Ability to utilize data to drive instruction
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • An obvious passion for teaching children
  • The ability to adapt activities for different learning styles and abilities
  • Experience working with students with dyslexia

Qualifications:

  • Experience in elementary or secondary education per position; preferably with interdisciplinary teaching
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher; Master’s Degree preferred

Salaries & Benefits:

  • Salary commensurate with experience and ranging $40,000-$55,000
