Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $66,989.54 Effective as of: 08-16-2022


**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.

RESPONSIBILITIES


SUMMARY Develop, implement, and support individualized practices for achieving learning outcomes for students with significant communication, cognitive, and/or social/behavioral needs, based on the requirements of Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA). Will utilize evidence-based best practice and rely on frequent progress monitoring for programming adjustments. The ASD teacher will take a leadership role in collaboratively problem solving interventions for students. An essential part of this position is to effectively organize and coordinate the responsibilities of multiple adults in the educational environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Understand, interpret, and implement educational assessments and prescriptive and data driven instruction relying on frequent progress monitoring for adjustments.

Implement evidence-based best practice, including multiple methodologies, individualized for students with autism or autisc-like tendencies.

Develop appropriate plans and materials for effective instruction in multiple educational settings.

Develop and implement positive behavior support plans and facilitate the use of functional communication systems.

Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Is aware of requirements of IDEIA and conducts IEP evaluations and meetings accordingly.

Comply with Exceptional Student Services and District policies and procedures (e.g., Medicaid billing, accident reporting).

Organize, supervise and provide professional learning for multiple adults within the classroom.

Maintain positive communication and relationships and provide professional learning for general education teachers, program support staff, school staff, and parents.

Create a safe environment for students that ensures access to quality instruction.

Provides student support around personal-care needs and other functional life skills as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS Hold a valid Colorado teaching license with Special Education Generalist endorsement

EXPERIENCE Has experience/supervised internship in working with students with significant communication, cognition, and/or social/behavioral needs. Can provide evidence of supervision and leadership of multiple adults. Has prior experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum in an educational setting. Has a working knowledge of and/or experience with behavior analysis and implementing function based behavior interventions.
