Summary: The Hanover Public Schools is looking for Special Education Administrators to oversee grades 1-3 and grades 7-12Qualification: Massachusetts licensure as an Administrator of Special Education and/or Supervisor/Director of Special Education.Masters Degree in Special Education or a related field required. Minimum of 5 years experience as a licensed special educator preferred.Experience as a Team Chairperson preferred.Duties and Responsibilities: Oversight and development of special education programming for grades Kindergarten through third grade.Supervise and evaluate special education staff and related service providers.Facilitate department meetings and collaborate regularly with colleagues.Communicate regularly with teachers, parents/guardians, outside providers, related service providers, and principals; keep staff informed of special education student needs.Serve as the Team chair at initial and three-year reevaluation IEP meetings.Maintain compliance and stay current with all special education regulations.Provide communication to parents/guardians of their rights to due process under IDEA and ensure that the spirit of the intent of IDEA is fulfilled; provide parental safeguards and other related documents. Serve as the LEA for grades K- 3 and review all IEPs after Team meetings.Meet and communicate regularly with other district Special Education Administrators, Assistant Director of Student Services, and Director of Student Services.
