Home Health Aide Job Description

As a Home Health Aide (HHA) services are provided to maintain, strengthen, and safeguard the client in his/her own home environment. He/she provides care, warmth, and support in accordance with the specified plan of care for the client. To excel in this role, you should have an interest in health care and the ability to work with limited supervision keeping the patients needs your top priority.

Home Health Aide (HHA) Responsibilities:

• Help with general light housekeeping, personal hygiene, dressing and maintaining a healthy and safe environment.
• Provide nutritional support to patients. (preparing meals; feeding)
• Preform basic health care services for patients, including checking patients’ weight, vital signs, and documentation.
• Reminding patients to take medications.
• Assist patients with ambulation and exercise as appropriate.
• Work with RN, LVN and other caregivers to meet patient’s health care needs.
• Observe and report changes in patients’ condition to Nurse Supervisor / RN.
• Maintain status with HHA in-service training.
• Work with limited supervision.
• Other supportive services as assigned.
• Reports to HHA Liaison, HHA Supervisor then Director of Nursing.

Home Health Aide (HHA) Qualifications:

• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Competent to perform personal care and housekeeping tasks.
• Have not been convicted of an offence under Chapter 3, 19 and 20 of the Texas Penal Code and other offenses under Section §250.006 and Section §3.201 of the Texas Penal Code (Conviction barring employment)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• On call

We provide our Home Health Aides (HHA) gloves and masks when needed to perform duties.
