Job Description:
Department Overview:
The Design & Construction Department is accountable for the successful design and planning of JM Family Enterprises workplace environments.

Job Overview:

The Space Planner assists with the design and development of workplace environments that meet the needs and requirements of JM Family business units. This team player works as a liaison for intercompany business unit representatives (client), furniture providers, architects, contractors, and intercompany service providers to ensure all parties are represented, engaged, and working collectively for the successful delivery of each project.

Tasks:
  • Assists with project execution including budget development, contractor & vendor selection, timeline creation, scheduling, payment approvals & processing, punch list, and project close-out
  • Develops space and/or move solutions to address clients’ occupancy and/or furniture needs
  • Responds to internal furniture requests and assists with purchasing and scheduling installation
  • Holds vendors and contractors accountable to providing the highest standards of workmanship and performance
  • Organizes and moderates scheduled Owner / Architect / Contractor meetings ensuring proper communication and accurate documentation throughout the course of the project
  • Provides project updates to the team and internal business units
  • Updates associates’ locations, maintains updated floor plans, and assists with other tasks as needed for the company’s IWMS; FM Interact
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with commercial furniture systems or in corporate space planning
  • Strong organizational skills to efficiently process and act on matters in an effective and timely manner
  • Effective and professional communication skills
  • Must be able to manage projects and work on assignments with minimal supervision
  • Office Software Applications:
    • MS Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
    • Experience with Autocad / Revit software preferred
    • Experience with FM:Interact (FMI) – Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) preferred
    • Experience with Procore and Bluebeam preferred
