Social Worker / Family Support Specialist – FamilyMatters, a JAFCO Support Networkin Bala Cynwyd, PA,seeks a Social Worker / Family Support Specialist to coordinate and provide services for children and families enrolled in our programs at our Northeast Communities Center. Your responsibilities will include scheduling and conducting initial intakes on referrals for clinical services to assess both the child’s and family’s strengths, needs, abilities and preferences. In addition, you will be responsible for:
- Identifying and developing goals, plans and recommendations for each child and family.
- Scheduling regular and on-going home visits as well as maintaining case notes, file documentation and other required paperwork.
- Conducting support groups, as scheduled by the agency.
- Remaining up to date with services available throughout the community and assisting families in accessing the appropriate resources.
- Conducting therapeutic supervised visitations and preparing visitation summaries and court reports.
- Attending court hearings, IEP and other school meetings, as needed.
To qualify for this Social Worker opportunity, you must have a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or family therapy. Prior experience is preferred, but not required. We will train the right candidate. In addition, you must have:
- Experience with crisis and trauma counseling as well as an understanding of treatment programs and mental health terminology.
- Experience with mental health and behavioral issues, anger management and drug and alcohol issues.
- Flexibility to work evenings two or three times a week and weekends as needed to meet with patients around their schedules.
- CPR and First Aid certifications.
- A valid Driver’s License, insurance and clean driving record.
