Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Social Services Manager, you will complete high quality work in accordance with outlined standards and procedures within defined time frames. You will serve as an example for Customer Service and Customer Loyalty principles. You will facilitate effective communication and problem solving with staff in other departments. You will supervise case management staff regarding issues of clinical care, utilization management, discharge planning, and physician relationships.

What you will do in this position:

• In this role, you will maintain schedules for case managers and unit therapists to ensure adequate staffing while meeting productivity goals.
• You will ensure compliance with set standards for Grier, MIM, discharge notifications, and Bio-Psycho-Social assessments.
• You will facilitate collaboration with hospital staff, PAS, and Managed Care Organizations with a goal of contract compliance and decreasing payer denials or non-medically necessary days at the facility level.
  
• You will act as case manager/clinical services resource and responds to requests from Revenue Integrity.
  
• In this role, you will function as a liaison with Psychiatrists, Nursing Staff, Unit Therapists, and Managed Care Organizations.
• You will demonstrate knowledge and competence with the electronic medical record program, MIDAS, PLUS, Kronos, and denials tool.
• You will participate in treatment teams with Medical Directors, staff psychiatrists, and other clinicians as appropriate.
• Your role assures that documentation, certifications and demographic data for all assigned cases are accurate.
• You will alert Director and appropriate clinical staff of potential problems affecting insurance reimbursement.
• You will act as liaison for interns by working closely with contracted institutions of higher learning to provide clinical internship placement. This includes interviewing of intern candidates, on-going supervision, and facilitation of the learning experience.
• You will demonstrate the ability to integrate age specific factors into the plan of care and involves the patient and family in the care plan process as appropriate to age. (Populations Served: Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric)
• You will consistently protect patient confidentiality as outlined in state and federal statutes.

What qualifications you will need:

• Requires current Tennessee RN License or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related mental health field.
• Licensure in Social Work preferred.
• Requires two to five years experience working in a behavioral health setting, preferably psychiatric inpatient experience; or five years post graduate supervised broad clinical experience.
• Successful completion of CPI training (part 1&2) within 2 months of hire and annually thereafter.
• Familiarity with required DSM-5 diagnoses, inpatient psychiatric treatment protocols, brief therapy, and chemical dependency intervention knowledge and skills required.
• Knowledge of medical model, psychotropic medications, familiarity with full range of treatment options and mental health service delivery systems required.
• Must demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to advocate for patients in regards to managed care organizations.
• BLS required
