Marc Phillips Rugs is hiring a driven Social Media Specialist to engage and grow company sales with targeted audience. With showrooms in Los Angeles and New York, this person will be focused on presenting the company as one cohesive brand. The goal is to achieve superior customer engagement and intimacy, website traffic and revenue by executing all facets of social media, email marketing and website optimization. Candidate should have an understanding, and passion for interior and product design with luxury finishes. Note this position will work out of our Los Angeles showroom.

Responsibilities

Social Media:

  • Build and execute social media strategies through competitive research, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
  • Generate, schedule, edit, publish and share daily content that builds meaningful connections and encourages the audience to act
  • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules
  • Capture and analyze the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices
  • Consistent voice and brand identity in collaboration with sales, creative teams, and owners

Marketing, Assets & Website

  • Assist with creating marketing materials which are engaging, smart, with emotional storytelling
  • Create copy for e-blasts, social media, website, emails and printed materials
  • Keep up with current trends to advise on what’s the next ‘up and coming’ products and services
  • Relay communication of strategies between departments/showrooms and drive assets to be delivered in a timely manner
  • Create product image library of ‘in-use’ (room shots) and aspirational imagery
  • Secure permissions necessary for images and other products for promotional use

Product & Partnerships

  • Help facilitate product development, acquisitions, and design collaborations
  • Plan and execute engaging events, such as launch parties, book signings, industry events and trade shows
  • Growth of customer outreach and database for email marketing
  • Identify new market segments and unexpended leads that will benefit from company products

Analytics

  • Market research and forecasting of current and developing trends
  • Follow up reports identifying what is working and areas of improvement for e-blasts, social media engagement, website, in-person events and other marketing outlets with sales team
  • Liaise with sales team to understand what’s selling and being well received by clients

Website Management

  • Implement all website updates in collaboration with sales, creative teams, and owners
  • Oversee all website functioning and liaise with external dev team on functional needs and troubleshooting
  • Enter and update products, collections, remove sold items and refine presentation so website is dynamic and accurate
  • Implement SEO initiative plan

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist
  • Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to write engaging and dynamic copy for a variety of products and collections
  • Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, CRO and SEO

The best fit for this role will be a results-based proactive team player. Other tasks may be assigned from time to time like assisting the team to resolve issues with Dropbox, Outlook, Magento, and IT solutions. This is still a small company, and we are all expected to be a team player and help with ad hoc tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 - $35.00 per hour
