Title: Associate Manager, Social Media

Salary: Expected hourly pay rate for this role will be between $33.00 and $36.00 USD at the commencement of employment.

However, if hired, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis (pay rates may vary) and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonuses and other IMAX sponsored benefit programs.

Required Skills


Responsibilities
:

  • Own the publication of IMAX’s social calendar. Schedule social posts in accordance with the content calendar across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok
  • Make recommendations on best practices for publication on social channels (i.e., asset sizes required, unique copy needs for each platform, etc.)
  • Interact with IMAX social fan community in a timely manner consistent with the brand voice in an effort to grow and nurture the community
  • Keep track of fan sentiment & social listening trends and report back if escalation or action is required
  • Support ad hoc social posts such as sharing event coverage on Instagram stories or Twitter in real-time (i.e., red carpet event, IMAX Live etc.)
  • Review, draft and edit social copy (for social posts, fan comments, brand interactions, etc.) that communicates approved campaign messaging while maintaining a fan-first and social-first tone of voice
  • Bring creative ideas to the table and participate in idea strategies to creatively engage with IMAX’s social community with the Social Team and Social Agency
  • Ability to understand the needs of multiple stakeholders within IMAX (i.e., Film Marketing, Brand, IMAX Live, etc.). Help ensure that multiple stakeholders’ social marketing plans are accurately reflected in the editorial calendar
  • Help lead communications with IMAX’s social agency and provide daily oversight to ensure their deliverables and deadlines are being met
  • Stay relevant on entertainment and social media news and trends

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience in a digital/social role, in-house or agency-side
  • Extensive experience in community management and publishing social posts natively across multiple social platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok & YouTube)
  • Ability to manage publication of a robust social media calendar that may publish 10-15 times a week
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented while under tight deadlines; handles multiple initiatives and effectively prioritizes assignments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to develop creative ways to engage fan communities on social
  • Proficient in word processing applications, spreadsheets, presentation software and social media management tools
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills
  • A deeply passionate colleague and partner who loves to make, loves to challenge themselves and is not afraid to step outside their comfort zone to try something new
  • Excellent time management (sets delivery expectations accordingly) and creative problem-solving skills
  • Able to meet deadlines while still delivering work product that reflect the IMAX brand’s high standards
  • A quick learner, a self-starter, able to work independently, and willingness (and ability) to handle the pressures of an increasing level of responsibility
  • A ‘fan-centric’ mentality and experience driving audience-based initiatives
  • Works well with others, manages partners and colleagues proactively and effectively, seeks appropriate advice, input and sign off. Happy to roll up their sleeves and help, even outside their area of expertise
  • On the pulse of culture, pop culture, movie culture and fan culture, especially relating to tentpoles, blockbusters, and genre films
