POSITION SUMMARY

This position works closely with patients, physicians, and other medical professionals’ as part of a team in administering varied medical services in a pleasant, professional manner. Patience, problem-solving skills, and communication ability are important. 

In the role of Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), you will be responsible for organizing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care to patients in the outpatient clinic setting. You’ll be both a health practitioner and an educator, supporting disease prevention practices and helping people lead healthy lives.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Examine patients and their medical records
  • Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.)
  • Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
  • Propose treatments for chronic and infectious diseases
  • Prescribe medications
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules
  • Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
  • Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics, and prevention
  • Oversee patients’ overall health
  • Promote good health practices
  • Advance professional knowledge and conduct research

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Proven experience as an APP in an outpatient clinic, hospital, ER emergency department or related setting
  • Expertise in primary care, internal medicine, acute care, and chronic care practices
  • Experience in delivery of outcomes driven, Value Based Care
  • Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bi/Multilingual is a plus! (We need Spanish, Arabic, Farsi, Bengali)
  • Strong ethics
  • Team spirit with a positive attitude
  • Patience and cool headedness
  • Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fully unrestricted Nurse Practitioner NP/PA license

  • Spoken and written fluency in English.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

MIINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program
  • Must be PANCE (Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination) certified through the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
  • For Nurse Practitioners, current RN license, Master’s degree in nursing w/certificate in advanced practice nursing and current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
  • Must meet credentialing requirements including licensure, boards and current DEA.
  • Strong sense of compassion and personal ethics
  • Ability to work efficiently and independent
  • 1+ Proven work experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (preferred)
  • Knowledge of medical guidelines and procedures regarding examination, therapy and recovery
  • Familiarity with advancements in medical technology and current know-how· Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • MA in Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Studies, Health Science or Medical Science
