Job Title: Shipping Manager

Reports To: Operations Manager

Position Description: The Shipping Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the shipping department. This role requires an understanding of shipping processes, methodologies and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our customers. The Shipping Manager will ensure that orders are shipped on time, within budget and to the highest standards of accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the shipping department and supervise shipping personnel
• Plan and implement shipping strategies that meet business objectives
• Manage the timely and accurate shipment of orders
• Ensure that shipping processes are efficient and effective
• Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and guidelines
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, suppliers, and customers
• Oversee the preparation of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs declarations, etc.
• Monitor and report on shipping performance metrics
• Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve shipping issues
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve shipping-related problems
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of shipping trends and best practices
• Ensure that all shipping equipment and resources are properly maintained
• Manage the budget for the shipping department
• Provide training and mentorship to shipping personnel
• Develop and maintain safe working conditions in the shipping department

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in a shipping management role
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Ability to manage and motivate a team
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with shipping regulations, customs declarations, and logistics methodologies
• Knowledge of shipping software and tools
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong customer service skills

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
