All Weather Architectural Aluminum is a dynamic, fast-growing family owned business that has been in business since 1969 and spans three generations. We are seeking a Shipping Lead for our Shipping/Loading Dept. The Shipping Lead has a wide range of duties and responsibilities, including administrative and financial responsibilities, and must oversee their respective team. This individual is accountable for ensuring that loading schedules are followed and executed, on-time delivery upheld to customer’s expectations, and all tasks are performed in a timely manner while adhering to company values and standards of quality.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• 1 – 2 years previous manufacturing experience (Window/Door manufacturing preferred)
• Effectively communicate in English (written and verbal)
• Prior leadership experience

Computer Skills: MS Word & Excel, Outlook, and database software

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Organize and schedule work assignments to achieve maximum efficiency
• Order necessary supplies and equipment for team
• Issue pertinent and detailed shipping instructions to the team
• Manage a safe work environment in accordance with Company guidelines to include but not limited to; facilitating regular safety meetings and training, completing safety inspections, incident investigations, and general safety awareness.
• Ensure all products that are ready to ship are collected, placed on truck, scanned to truck, and packaged / tied down appropriately and safely
• Ensures the most economical and efficient use of equipment and personnel to accomplish assigned work.
• Use of a fork truck, will need to get certified, if not already
• Accurately count, label, and package parts in accordance with customer requirements and expectations
• Evaluates the efficiency of existing shipping processes, implementing procedural improvements when necessary
• Monitors and tracks staff performance against organizational objectives.
• Understand, follow, and enforce all established safety, health, quality, and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices
• Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards
• Notify supervisor of any major problems or questions, including Quality or Safety concerns
• Organize and maintain all shipping records, paperwork and documentation
• Support communication between departments, management, loaders, drivers, and other personnel
• Check inventory levels for loaders
• Serve as back up to shipping supervisor by moving trailers in/out of dock area, visually checking loads for stability and safety for all loaded trucks
• Call supervisor or manager if any product cannot be found before truck leaves to ensure all products that are deemed to ship, make the truck and meet customer’s expectations
• Perform any other job-related duties requested by the Supervisor or Manager
• Identify and correct conditions that affect employee safely
• Send out daily pass-downs to management team daily at the end of the shift
• Train new employees

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires lifting of 50lbs unassisted, walking, and standing for long periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a warehouse/production environment; loud machine noise from production floor and machinery, and possible exposure to hot/cold temperatures depending on season.
