Job description
Summary
Verifies quantity, quality, labeling, and addressing of products and items of merchandise ready for shipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Close out all of the orders when shipped and documented correctly.
Verify that the paperwork is correct before it leaves our dock, including making sure the driver is taking the proper paperwork.
Clarify and create any and all international paperwork, especially Canadian paperwork.
Update the SPR throughout the day, based on what we are shipping, payment status, and overall status.
Continually update Visual, "Customer Order Entry" to show the current status of each shipment.
Follow up with Assistant Shipping Clerk to make sure that the pallets are being stickered and prepared properly for shipment.
Answer emails throughout the day with all of the PM's regarding shipment status, payment, etc.
Book certain shipments that have to be booked such as, Fed-Ex, Transgroup, UPS, etc.
Enter all of the orders that shipped out for the day on the "Shipment Log".
Delete the orders, that have shipped and have been closed in Visual from the SPR at the end of the day.
Constantly try to come up with better solutions to logistical problems that occur.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
