THE ROLE
The Senior Vice President, Commercial (“SVP”), based in Miami and reporting to Windstar’s President, is a critical business partner and contributor. As a key member of the executive leadership team for Windstar, this leader will be directly responsible for the global strategy and implementation of marketing, ecommerce, sales, PR, reservations, deployment and revenue management activities. This includes the development of annual revenue targets, planning of marketing and sales objectives that will lead to achievement of the company’s financial revenue plan, external public relations, all marketing-related activities including websites and online booking engines, reservation systems, global distribution, other digital marketing, global sales, and sales incentive programs, in addition to managing the revenue management team, reporting and analytics, database and deployment.

Responsibilities (Text Only):
  • Oversee and approve the marketing and sales plans and budgets for Windstar.
  • Oversee digital strategies for domestic and international websites. Optimize websites for user experience, capturing leads and conversion.
  • Work with VP Sales and Senior Director of Reservations to provide on-going sales training and monitoring programs for sales and reservation personnel.
  • Work with Director of Marketing and Director of Communications to manage external advertising and PR agencies.
  • Be an active participant on the Windstar Leadership team, collaborating with all other functional leaders to deliver the best outcomes for the Windstar brand.
Qualifications (Text Only):
The successful candidate for this role is a strong travel industry marketing executive who brings a minimum of 15 years of commercial and ecommerce leadership experience with deep knowledge of the U.S. luxury travel consumer as well as experience in growing business in international markets to the Company. We seek a strategic thinker who can successfully translate vision into tactical operational initiatives and accountabilities. Specific to this the successful candidate will:
  • Possess 15+ years of demonstrated progression in consumer marketing, sales, and revenue management, ideally in the cruise industry. This person must have deep digital marketing knowledge and expertise in consumer engagement, third party sales including travel advisors, group, and FIT channels.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in managing multiple commercial disciplines: sales, marketing, PR, call center and revenue management.
  • Possess strong financial acumen; comfort building financial forecasts and ROI for marketing initiatives.
  • Be experienced in managing advertising, branding, public relations, and other specialized agencies.
  • Possess crisis management expertise with strong skills in internal and external communications.
  • Be recognized as a collaborative, aspirational leader known to motivate and develop staff. Ability to act with little supervision in guiding the general policies that shape the department.
  • Availability for frequent travel.
  • Experience in Seaware, Cloudsuite, Birst, Tableau , Microsoft software applications is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent degree required, M.B.A. preferred.
