Senior Vice President

EMPOWER’s Community Based Care program includes services to families that support the safety, permanency, and well-being of children in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).

As the Single Source Continuum Contractor (SSCC) in Metroplex East (formerly referred to as Region 3E), EMPOWER will ensure the full range of services, which includes foster and kinship care, purchased services, case management, and reunification services. EMPOWER will fully engage the community to help achieve positive outcomes for children.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in human services field.

Five years or more senior nonprofit leadership experience.

Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation.

Ability to convey a vision of the program’s strategic future to staff, board, and diverse community members.

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Experience with computer programs, including Word, Excel, and database management software.

You will be required to travel in order to attend meetings, training, or conduct business off site. You must have a valid driver’s license and meet agency underwriting standards. You will not be required to transport clients.

As a Senior Vice President, you will be the key management leader and responsible for overseeing the administration and strategic plan of the contract/program. Other key duties include, fundraising, marketing, and community outreach, as well as:

  • Responsible for leading the program in a manner that supports and guides the program’s mission.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively with the Chief Executive Officer and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Chief Executive Officer to make informed decisions.
  • Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the program in a positive financial position.
  • Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that the program can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future.
  • Responsible for the enhancement of the program’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations.
  • Responsible for effective administration of the program’s operations.
  • Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.
