Responsibilities:
OBXtek is currently seeking a Cloud Computing Engineer to join our team in support of our Army Enterprise Service Management (AESMP) Program

The Army Enterprise Service Management Platform (AESMP) Software as a Service (SaaS) Senior Test Engineer will support the AESMP Project Office and assist the AESMP System Owner with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system validation, deployment, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of the Army’s new ITSM enterprise system on the Army’s NIPRNet and SIPRNet supporting over 1.4 million users.

Job Description:
The Senior Test Engineer will work closely with AESMP System Owner to analyze, test, evaluate, validate, monitor, document and report status updates on the implementation, functionality, capabilities and overall performance and sustainment operations of the AESMP SaaS platform (ie. ServiceNow) ensuring that the Government cloud solution is meeting the Army’s changing needs/requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the AESMP SaaS Platform system test plan to assess, identify and minimize risks for Army use of the ServiceNow instance in the approved Government Community Cloud (GCC) environment
  • Have knowledge of the Government Community Cloud (GCC) environment and the different DoD Impact Level requirements (IL2, IL4, IL5 and IL6).
  • Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) 2.0 and the application of the Army-specific controls required to maintain system accreditation in the cloud environment
  • Lead integration and user acceptance testing of system upgrades and any new technologies, capabilities or functionalities introduced into the environment
  • Formulates/defines test cases based on system requirements and specification. Develop or modify procedures to test system functionality as a whole
  • Assist with planning, testing, evaluating and implementing changes to the AESMP SaaS platform (ie. ServiceNow) and infrastructure with the goal of improving performance
  • Assist with planning, testing, evaluation future application interfaces with AESMP SaaS platform (ie. ServiceNow), data migration, data backup and disaster recovery operations
  • Develop and perform test cases, documents the result, and tracks changes
  • Prepare detailed specifications from which program bugs will be corrected and follows up with additional tests to ensure proper system functionality
  • Implements agile testing practices, writes manual and automated test scripts for various forms of testing (integration tests, regression test, security test, performance and acceptance tests)
  • Assist with diagnosing and documenting problems by evaluating system performance metrics and work with system owner and mission contractor towards resolution
  • Performance monitoring of systems, programs and provide recommendations to improve system performance, escalating high-level concerns to System Owner and/or appropriate technology teams
  • Ability to lead technical analysis and evaluation efforts to achieve user requirements, including future modifications, system changes and operational sustainment
Assist Army customers with setting up new accounts, configuring and testing routing, application interface requirements, troubleshooting and resolving technical problems and configuring network designs where applicable


Other Duties:

  • Represents the AESMP Program Office as the subject matter specialist providing testing know-how for the support of Army user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and implements automated test tools and strategies.
  • Designs, implements, and conducts test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Develops, maintains, and upgrades automated test scripts and architectures for application products. Also writes, implements, and reports status for system test cases for testing. Analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports.
  • Directs and/or participates in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design and testing criteria
  • Ability to lead technical planning and management to achieve user requirements, including future modifications, scope changes, testing and sustainment planning
  • Facilitate IPTs and Testing Analysis Working Group to ensure Army SaaS platform objectives are clearly defined, tested and system requirements
  • Attend weekly Operations, Strategy Group and Synchronization meetings and IPTs as required

Qualifications:

Qualificaitons:

  • ** Active DoD SECRET Clearance required **
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Able to travel up to 5 percent
  • Position is remote/telecommute based, 95 percent teleworking


Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering. Information Services or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a full time IT professional successfully leading, guiding, and directing program/projects.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and reviewing test plans, cases, procedures and reports for all product releases for completeness, consistency and applicability to user requirements
  • Experience identifying, documenting, testing, and verifying Incident Reports (IR) and Software, Trouble Reports (STR), and provide system impact analysis.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • 3+ years of experience using the Remedy or ServiceNow ITSM tool
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies. A deep understanding of the IT Service Management Model, including industry best practices for ITIL processes and success factors/KPIs


Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Microsoft Azure Certification (Cloud Platform and Infrastructure or equivalent desired)
  • Knowledge of at least one other cloud hosting solution in addition to Azure (e.g. Google, AWS, Helion Cloud, SoftLayer)
  • Experience testing and supporting enterprise core services as well as cloud deployments of these services
  • Staff experience researching and writing white papers, compliance reports and assessment reports in support of activities for defining policy.
  • Ability to develop briefing materials, provide administrative and logistics support
