Job description

  • General Responsibilities
    • Reports to the Valve Reliability Program Manager.
    • Collect diagnostic test data from technicians daily and perform quality checks
    • Provide customer with status updates on frequencies dictated by customer
    • Review test data daily and provide recommendations to correct asset deficiencies identified in the testing
    • Compile test results into professional reports and review findings with customers
    • Provide clear and concise recommendations with supporting documentation
    • Consult with customer in a technical capacity to ensure planned work scope will correct deficiencies as intended.
    • Maintain all test data in centralized database to ensure data preservation
    • Participate in KPI meetings with customer
    • Participate in on-site testing activities for first time evolutions and critical maintenance testing as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Ensure corrective action process is followed to address any gaps identified.
    • Work with customers to develop and implement Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) Programs for Valves
    • Track and Trend diagnostic data to perform data analytics on a large data set and identify common failure mechanisms
    • Identify and Implement new PdM technology, processes, and procedures for valve maintenance
  • Test Technician Development
    • Review asset nameplate information collected by technicians for accuracy
    • Perform period field observations; coach and mentor technicians.
    • Remotely support technicians with technical advice and recommendations as needed
    • Evaluate quality of technician test results and review improvement opportunities with their manager

    • Skilled at one or more MOV Testing platforms: Quiklook, Ultrachek-M, Infinity, Viper
    • Electrical Safety Qualified to NFPA70E or equivalent
    • Skilled at reading and interpretation of Electrical Schematics and P&ID’s
    • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical functions of valves
    • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic functions of valve actuators
    • Must demonstrate competency by passing Task Performance Evaluations for Motor-Operated Valve (MOV) Testing and Data Interpretation
  • Additional Experience Desired
    • Digital Process Control Technology (ex: Emerson Delta V, AMS Device Manager, ValveLink, Digital Valve Positioners, Smart Electric Actuators)
    • 5+ years’ experience in the field as a Lead Diagnostic Tester or Valve Engineer responsible for data review
    • Experience with AOV Testing platforms (FlowScanner, ValveLink, Quiklook, Ultrachek-A, Infinity, Viper, BenchMark/Black Diamond, etc)
    • Experience with acoustic emission (AE) leak detection (Ultraprobe, Midas, LDS, etc)
    • Knowledge of nuclear industry Diagnostic Test Procedures
    • Software Proficiencies: SAP, Relational Database design, Office 365

Candidate must reside within the boundaries of this service area or be willing to relocate upon acceptance of a job offer. This full-time job offers a flexible work week schedule with the possibility of up to 20% travel within our service area.
