Job Summary

Work related to the purchase, installation, monitoring and support of network communications, including LAN/WAN/voice systems. Performs complex evaluation, diagnosis and resolution to network problems. Upgrades network hardware and software components as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.

• Responsible for network monitoring, triage and escalation in a Network Operations Center (NOC) and in a Technical Call center environment
• Provides technical assistance in the solution testing, operation and maintenance of a multi-vendor, multi-service network ecosystem
• Provides technical assistance in the administration and maintenance of Unix, Linux and Windows based servers and applications
• Able to configure and troubleshoot Triple Play networks and equipment including VOIP and enterprise level services
• Acts as an escalation point for Technical Service Representatives
• Responsible for service and equipment configuration using GUI based management platform and CLI (command line interface)
• Performs testing and trouble shooting to support Broadband initiatives
• Follows and creates detailed, technical MOPs for maintenance and upgrades of network equipment
• Trouble shoots network problems in order to restore service
• Network +, CCNA certifications a plus

Experience Requirements

• One to three years' experience in telecommunications preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Comp TIA A+ ant Network + certifications preferred
