Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, development, evaluation, and modification of an interactive virtual training tool for system and network administrators to accomplish Mission Qualification Training.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, evaluate, and modify end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire lifecycle.
  • Generate quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.
  • Maintain, sustain, and update the current on-premises application with the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
  • Provide systems engineering support as a key member of an integrated team to sustain the execution of the current and future application functionality and translate high-level product development strategies into system requirements specifications.
  • Utilize Agile Software methodology to build and sustain capability.
  • Sustain the production baseline as well as work on new Change Requests (CRs), including modernization efforts, in support of the baseline. CRs shall include user-prioritized CRs, rare urgent CRs, DR fixes, and very time-compressed urgent CRs.
  • Deliver all software and all its components, capabilities, artifacts, and software support information, including design information and compilation, build, and modification procedures for suite components.
  • Maintain current baseline following and continue to update virtual systems following best CI/CD practices to current releases as directed.
  • Document test and evaluation events and activities to be accomplished for the lifecycle of the application.
  • Perform in-plant testing, including but not limited to, unit code tests, smoke tests, regression tests, quality assurance, security/vulnerability, and C2 integration testing as required.
  • Attend and/or facilitate product demonstrations at the request of the user community.
  • Mentor junior staff as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience can be used instead of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering and testing and evaluation.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux/Windows system administration (command line level), including experience with PowerShell and Bash.
  • Experience with scripting languages and orchestration platforms, including PowerShell, Python, Bash, Java, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with collaboration tools, including but not limited to GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, Subversion, Git, and scanning tools, like Fortify.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware, Citrix, NetApp, and SCCM.
  • Experience in Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration techniques.
  • Baseline IAT-II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M requirements preferred.
  • Active Secret clearance.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to maintain and keep a Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain USAF CAC.
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting.
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals.
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Previous customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
