SOS International LLC (SOSi) is currently seeking a Sr. System Engineer (Modeling) at one of our customer sites in Washington DC to lead a large, mission-critical IT software and systems engineering program supporting the Department of the Army. The ideal candidate will possess extensive agile-based experiences in system engineering and/or system-of-system engineering environment(s).
Responsibilities
- Analyze Systems Engineering statutory and regulatory documentation and artifacts in support of acquisition milestone decisions including, but not limited to, Systems Engineering Plans, Simplified Acquisition Management Plans, Lifecycle Management Plans, Program Protection Plans, Risk Management Plans, Modular Opens Systems Approach, etc…) and provide recommendations to ensure documents comply with DoD policy and regulations.
- Perform independent technical risk assessments of programs entering milestone decisions.
- Analyze system of systems (SoS) architectures, SoS policy/governance documents, and SoS interoperability
Qualifications
- An active in-scope TS/SCI clearance.
- A master's degree in a specialized engineering plus a minimum of 1 year of specialized experience; or, a bachelor's degree in a specialized professional engineering curriculum plus a minimum of 7 years of applicable experience; or, a bachelor's degree in a professional engineering field with a minimum of 9 years of specialized experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in information technology or related discipline.
- MCSA/MCSE/MCITP certification.
- ITIL v3/v4.
- Certifications demonstrating experience operating in agile teams such as: Agile Alliance Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), SAFe 5.0 DevOps Practitioner, Scrum.org’s Professional Scrum Developer (PSD), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
- DoD 8570 IAT level II compliant (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP).
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft servers and interaction with SQL Databases.
- Experience with creating secure host baseline images for workstations and knowledge of DISA STIGS.
Working Conditions
- Candidate will support Agile teams of 6-8 contractors comprised of a Scrum Master and Contributors.
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends (if applicable).
