The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in his/her market segments. He/she is also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to impact hotel revenues positively.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of market position, pricing and rate structures, sales strategies, yield management, booking trends.
  • Be fully Knowledgeable of competitive markets outside the area.
  • Be fully knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of the hotel and departments that may impact sales strategies.
  • Achieve and exceed individual annual goals as established by the annual Marketing Plan.
  • Sales and Marketing programs
  • Have knowledge of the role of rooms merchandising revenue
  • Develop and maintain a job specification, area responsibility, geographical areas, and individual sales planning.
  • Attend and participate monthly rooms training.
  • Achieve budgeted revenues
  • Develop short- and long-term plans for that relates to the objectives of market segment position.
  • Participate in the preparation of quarterly action plans.
  • Increase level of guest satisfaction by delivery of exceptional detail/planning.
  • Maintain and correct procedures for credit control, financial transactions, and security of financial assets.
  • Respond and resolve guest request, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Ability to accurately use various office and accounting software.
  • Communicate clearly and accurately (verbally or non-verbally) in a pleasant manner.
  • Show competence by completing job responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate an ability to follow a prescribed sequence of service with each encounter
  • Take initiative, be willing to assume responsibility for exceeding guests' expectations.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will be a polished team player with a least 2 years of Senior Group Sales experience who enjoys building and maintaining customer relationships
  • We are looking for someone with a proactive, can-do attitude, and superior written and verbal communication skills
  • 5+ years of hotel sales experience, 2+ years as a Senior Sales Manager
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Occasional travel required
