Senior Quality Technician

Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the quality department, monitoring products to ensure they meet the prescribed standards, and performing other duties and assignments as directed by the QC Manager

This role will require collaboration with the production, technical teams, and associated quality personnel.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor product at all stages throughout the process including the receipt from suppliers and before the material is shipped to ensure that it meets internal and external specifications.
  • Responsible for Final Inspection Report.
  • Reviews Quality returns / rejections.
  • Supports new product assessments against specified standards.
  • Assists in identifying faults and determining root causes and corrective actions.
  • Meets with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.
  • Ensure that paperwork and data records are accurate and up to date and issued to relevant personnel.
  • Ensure that the equipment used is calibrated, and results are recorded and in safe working order.
  • To gather relevant data on specified operations to monitor performance and where required produce reports.
  • Conduct audits and compliance checks on products, processes, and systems as directed.
  • Collect supplier and customer quality performance data.
  • Conduct supplier surveys and audits.
  • Monitors hide grading performance.
  • Process compliance.
  • Complete audits as well as compliance checks conducted against schedule.
  • Continuous improvement initiatives actioned/closed.
  • Ensure environmental, health, and safety standards are adhered to.
  • Responsible for safe conduct concerning tools, equipment, chemicals, and health and safety regulations.

Prepare all necessary reports as required by customers, regulatory and staff personnel.

  • Develop and maintain control plans.
  • Prepare management reviews as required.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Quality Manager.

Education / Skills / Experience

  • 2 years college and /or experience equivalent.
  • Aerospace and/or Automotive experience
  • Ability to read and interpret quality assurance product specifications and laboratory testing methods.
  • Ability to write technical and QA reports.
  • Ongoing training in all proposed and QA specifications and procedures relative to the leather industry.
  • Experience in business management system development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
