Senior QA Engineer

Pittsburgh, PA (fully remote - EST hours)

6-12 month rolling contract

The Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer role is for an experienced, talented individual to join our software development team. As part of our quality assurance team, you will be providing verification of software products, ensuring code is bug-free and efficient, and implementing automated testing procedures. Working closely with the development lead, you will devise and implement testing strategies and methodologies to engage with all stages of software development, ensuring functionality from the very outset. This is a senior-level position, and our ideal candidate has five plus years of professional experience in a software development environment, particularly in a role focused on quality assurance and testing.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with development leads to create and implement testing strategies relevant to all stages of development.
• Ensure all code is bug-free, scalable, and properly documented.
• Create new automated testing scripts to test large quantities of code.
• Ensure completeness, correctness, and usability of final products.
• Develop new quality assurance standards to reflect our emerging products and technologies.

Desired Background:

• Proven work experience in software development
• Proven work experience in software quality assurance
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Hands-on experience with both black box and white box testing
• Hands-on experience with developing automated scripts.
• Strong experience in Java, automated testing framework (Selenium WebDriver), testing tools (Junit, TestNG), build automation tools (Maven, Ant), Azure DevOps (pipelines), Database CRUD Operations (SQL Server, MongoDB)
• Experience with API testing and performance testing with tools such as JMeter or Soasta
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
• Familiarity with standard web and mobile architectures, both hardware and software

Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required
• Minimum 5 years of experience required
• Azure experience required
• Java experience required

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
