About the role
Responsible for performing specific and overall support for Portfolio Managers in the servicing of multiple portfolios of commercial real estate loans. Conducts moderate to complex research and financial analysis of commercial real estate properties, loans and portfolios.
What you'll do
Reviews and approves work/recommendation of analysis performed by Portfolio Analysts.
Responsible for the interpretation, analysis and approval of property operating statements. Responsible for interpretation, analysis and presentation of borrower correspondence related to lender consent items.
Responsible for preparing analysis of property level borrower requests relative to the commercial real estate properties securing loans in the CBRE Loan Services portfolio.
Conducts weekly conference calls with lenders and borrowers to discuss client management opportunities, current loan portfolio performance and issues, etc. Handles lender inquiries relative to property and loan level issues, property operating performance, valuation, inspections, market analysis, lender consent items, etc.
Trains employees relative to operating statement analysis, valuations, reporting, inspections, lender consent items, etc.
Other duties may be assigned.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate tasks with co-workers within a work unit and/or project.
What you’ll need
Extensive MS Excel experience building and maintain cash flow models
Complete understanding of time value of money concepts and key financial metrics a must
Strong analytical and quantitative skills in reviewing financial statements and ability to recognize risk through evaluation of operating trends
Experience with multifamily operations a plus
Exceptional professional writing and verbal communication skills are essential
General commercial real estate underwriting capabilities
Experience tracking construction projects for capital providers a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and simultaneously manage and effectively prioritize numerous complex transactions and issues
Detail oriented and dedicated to accuracy
Excellent organizational skills
Strong problem resolution skills
Great attention to detail, analytical approach and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Previous work experience in commercial real estate with focus on cash flow modeling, construction administration, valuation and / or servicing
3+ years of in-depth financial analyst experience in commercial real estate with a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret loan documents, joint venture documents, and industry reports
Ability to prepare clear, concise, complete, and compelling transactional presentations, reports, and business correspondence
Ability to effectively present information to clients and customers as well as internal management
Ability to communicate directions and guidance to others
Proficient in comment Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Experience with Argus preferred.
Advanced understanding of the principles of real estate and finance. Ability to perform calculations and hold/sell analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form and deal with disparate abstract and concrete variables.
