About this position
The Senior Manager evaluates the Individual Investor Brokerage strategy, including offer competitiveness, the role of brokerage within the business unit, and the multi-year road map to invest in brokerage. Beyond leading brokerage strategy development, the incumbent will lead brokerage change initiatives (including the implementation of the strategy they set). The role is high exposure and will entail ongoing engagement with senior partners and leaders.
Role Summary
Leads the life cycle for a portfolio of sophisticated products and offers that engage and deliver value to the client(s) within an assigned business unit. Makes recommendations on the strategy for those products and offers to management and senior staff.
Responsibilities
Develops strategic road maps and business cases - frames the firm's competitive positioning, and establishes the economics of brokerage offers. Partners in mapping the vision of the offer and the deliverables necessary to make it successful. Uses data and analysis from more junior staff to understand how to invest and grow the Brokerage business.
Consults and collaborates with partners - on approaches to improve existing brokerage strategy and develops new strategic proposals based on specialized knowledge of industry trends and business needs. Serves as the product owner and leads an internal cross-functional team to build and test prototypes, obtains feedback from sales and end users, holds regular meeting, leads partners and the strategy road map for complex products/offers.
Executes and innovates the process of taking new offers to market and getting approval from legal and other internal functions; gets agreement from client-facing associates and sales to deliver the go-to-market plan.
Reviews and interprets market assessment scans; prepares recommendations for growth opportunities, pricing strategies, and overall competitive positioning. As a skilled communicator, influences business and functional leaders to embrace recommendations and navigate through complex decisions with strategic outcomes.
Makes recommendations on which key performance indicators/measurements should be recorded to measure offer effectiveness, and uses analysis done by lower-level staff to build reports that can be used to update management and key partners.
Typical Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred
  • Financial Services Brokerage proven experience, in either a strategy planning and/or consultant capacity
  • Consistent track record of researching, identifying, interpreting, and prioritizing market needs
  • Experience in leading teams through change, including platform integration/changes, pricing and client experience models
  • Strong written skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of functional areas: Advisory, Sales, Operations, Legal
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to successfully run multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically and creatively
  • The ability to navigate across organizations and develop partnerships along with gaining buy-in for strategic proposals

FINRA licenses are not required for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for remote work up to two days a week.
