Position scope/summary
The CNC Maintenance Technician will have an understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to effectively resolve issues with the CNC equipment/components. Duties include, but are not limited to: responsible for the upkeep of all equipment, HVAC and electrical systems and routine maintenance on CNC machinery, utilizing the preventive maintenance schedule. Will install, move and disassemble machinery and equipment.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance per the schedule for all equipment assigned, to reduce downtime and prevent machine failures
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all CNC machine tool equipment
• Use technical documents internal and vendor resources to research machine issues
• Ensure proper documentation is completed and submitted
• Perform preventative maintenance on CNC machine equipment and unscheduled servicing of equipment after a problem is discovered
• Install, move and disassemble machinery and equipment as necessary
• Employ the strategies of 5S in order to maintain an efficient work area; clean, well ordered and maintaining the right types and amounts of spare parts
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance issues on all equipment
• Follow the proper methods and procedures for the handling of non-hazardous waste in the plant and removal of waste from the plant
• Deal with outside contractors for routine maintenance items/service contracts when necessary
• Ensure cleaning schedules are adhered to per PM-015 and maintenance schedules
• Keep work area clean
• Other duties as necessary

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in a Maintenance Technician position at a manufacturing facility, responsible for maintaining equipment and systems. Industry or product specific certifications preferred.
• Prior experience installing, moving and disassembling equipment and machinery
• Able to use all the tools necessary to conduct the work involved with maintaining Viant Medical’s equipment and building systems
• Able to use the computer, specifically spreadsheets, word processing and data base programs as well as experience with PM systems
• Able to give and follow instructions, both written and verbal
• Effectively communicate with all levels of employees, as well as outside contractors
• Excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities with many time constraints

Education: High School Diploma or GED required, vocational or technical schooling and/or industry or product specific certification preferred
