HOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 86.67 hours per pay period


POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Development drives the mission through the cultivation, development, and management of relationships with existing donors and new prospects, focusing on securing gifts of $1,000+ from individuals, and planned gifts to support the YMCA of Metro Denvers strategic objectives. This role stewards a portfolio of donors from prospecting to support fundraising success and expansion of the Ys mission and impact.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Identify and cultivate prospects and individual gift donors to resource and increase the impact of the YMCA to meet community needs.
  • Manage a portfolio of 50-100 donors/prospects capable of making annual gifts of $1,000-$10,000 and/or estate gifts.
  • Complete 100-150 donor/prospect/partner visits per year.
  • Conduct screening meetings and philanthropic profiles with assigned prospects and donors.
  • Ensure proper stewardship and recognition of donors to create long-lasting relationships between the donor and the YMCA.
  • Manage stewardship and engagement plans with key donors, staff, and members through use of donor database and project management software.
  • Represent and articulate YMCAs mission and programs to its potential constituents, members, and supporters. Inspires donors and team members.
  • Lead annual staff and member donor engagement and giving campaigns, developing messaging in collaboration with the marketing team and external partners.
  • Lead collaborations and education in planned giving, tax-advantaged giving, and estate planning with external partners, members, staff, and donors.
  • Responsible for core fundraising metrics including early prospect outreach (cold calling), face-to-face visits, identification of new prospects, growth in cumulative giving, dollars raised, and donors secured.
  • Track and report fundraising metrics to supervisor.
  • Collaborate with the team to provide routine reports on moves management with key donor prospects, gift pipeline, and donor engagement activity.
  • Provide donor relations and event planning & support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree or 5 years relevant experience in nonprofit development/ fundraising.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, Salesforce NPSP, similar donor database, Power Point, and donor portals preferred
  • Experience/knowledge of donor relations, estate giving, trusts, tax implications and fundraising processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent professional appearance and presentation
  • Commitment to excellence, and willingness to dedicate attention to detail
  • Ability to manage simultaneous priorities under pressure and with utmost professionalism and embrace new opportunities in a fluid environment
  • Highest professional standards in handling sensitive and confidential matters

  • Non-profit experience highly preferred
