Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $89,415.00 - $107,136.00 Effective as of: 06-16-2022


**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT


The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.

RESPONSIBILITIES


SUMMARY: Oversee the data warehouse design, ingestion, modeling, and optimization. Ensure the warehouse and ingestion architecture are optimized for delivering highly performant reporting and analysis using objects and shared data sets. This includes highlighting opportunities to reduce cost and innovate by managing data sources and applying business rules to make data meaningful for Jeffco. Manage the technical governance of data structures and design standards for information delivery enterprise-wide.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Design and implement data warehouse environments, schemas, and objects/measures.

Create, manage, and optimize the transformation of data within a warehouse.

Prepare and model data for marts, analytics, sharing, and visualizations.

Define and manage data methods and standards for ingestion, modeling, and sharing.

Design and implement data ingestion into lake/raw layer from API's, on premise application databases, and flat files.

Manage ongoing development to ensure the timely and accurate delivery.

Manage refresh and telemetry on data warehouse performance.

Effective collaboration with stakeholders directly and indirectly.

Demonstrate work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE Five (5) years' of experience in warehouse and data modeling. Advanced knowledge of SQL. Experience working with cloud data tools and infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.). Experience with acquiring data from API's. Familiarity with Python, Airflow, Snowflake, Source Control (TFS, GitHub), and PowerBI. Ed-Fi data standard experience preferred.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field similar to Mathematics, Engineering, Sciences, or Operations Research. Master's degree preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS SnowPro certification preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT Oral and written presentation and communication; interpersonal; system thinking; conflict resolution; and analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work and be collaborative and creative in new environments/markets. Effective and efficient working on and with technical teams both directly and indirectly. Ability to inform and guide senior leadership on key data management decisions. Ability to solve problems analytically. Knowledge of Agile devolvement process.

DECISION MAKING Requires detailed analysis and development of best-fit solutions. Ability to accurately develop queries and jobs to optimize performance. Ability to evaluate the impact and potential unintended consequences of queries and reports. Must ensure the protection of the Districts data following Board, State, and District guidelines. Errors could potentially result in substantial embarrassment and/or cost to the district.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS Daily contact with professional staff within the department to discuss routine internal matters. Work with internal stakeholders across all teams. Support and collaborate with external partners/vendors.

SPAN OF CONTROL This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, this position assists in the interview process and screening of applicants.

EDUCATIONAL DELIVERY Provide reporting and dashboards that support both our academic and operational needs.

COMPLEXITY OF WORK The work is primarily directed by the Architect Central Data Systems to align with Jeffco Public Schools' strategic goals and operational needs. Requires independent judgment and thinking; interpretation of facts; technical and analytical skills; application of technical knowledge; and analysis of a situation/decision's impact on the District. Must be able to analyze, synthesize, gather information, calculate, and interpret information. Must have a strong ability to solve system problems.
