Introduction:

We are looking for a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt (BB) Senior Project Manager to be part of the Global Business Continuous Improvement Team reporting into the Operations Function. The successful candidate will assist the Director of Continuous Improvement in planning, coordinating, and executing activities and initiatives relating to the delivery of solutions partnering across functional aspects of the business: Finance, Supply Chain, Development, Sales, IT, Operations, Services, Field Maintenance and Manufacturing. These process improvements are to streamline and simplify operations to improve market responsiveness and to drive operational efficiency.

The BB will work on improvement initiatives across business units in a matrixed, global environment and will initiate and lead innovation/improvement activities. Primary skills used include: PDCA, DMAIC, Project Management, Facilitation in Financial, Change Management, Operational and Services environments (to include Corporate/Office environments as well as Maintenance/Manufacturing environments). The BB will apply these skills to Continuous Improvement projects, focusing on project execution and leadership. Interactions will be all levels including those at a Director and Exec Director Levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Guides operational leaders in understanding and usage of quality and Lean methodologies by establishing links between process management initiatives and business strategies and identifying and prioritizing high-impact opportunities.
  • Takes the appropriate approach in Process Improvement whether artistic or scientific (e.g., Lean, Design Thinking, Six Sigma, Kaizen, DMAIC)
  • Through the rigorous use of change management disciplines, drives new processes and systems throughout the business and validate outcomes that meaningfully impact business/functional performance.
  • Develops plans, recommends, and executes initiatives that have multi-functional or multi organizational impact to achieve effectiveness.
  • Leads and facilitates Kaizen Events and Six Sigma Projects across the company and through cross functional teams.
  • Evaluates the implication of recommended initiatives and effectively communicates impact and resolutions to affected business groups and their senior or executive leaders.
  • Use quantitative/statistical process modeling and simulation techniques & tools to improve Quality, Internal /External Customer experience, and reduces Cost and Cycle time.
  • Creates forecasting models to predict future process/system performance based on changes implemented.
  • Coach business unit CI leaders in Continuous Improvement methods to identify, and execute process improvements targeted at reducing waste, increasing customer satisfaction/revenue as well as driving employee engagement and job satisfaction to new highs.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Statistics/Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt certification required.
  • PMP Project Management Certification or equivalent experience required.
  • Currently in an internal process improvement leader role in a global technology company.
  • 8+ years of experience working in several functions with at least 5 years of hands on LSS applications.
  • Led/Facilitated 15 or more Kaizen Events
  • Change management experience in a matrixed environment.
  • Experienced with Leading Projects in Office/Business Environments as well as Maintenance/Warehouse Environments.
  • Lean Six Sigma project management and delivery experience and expertise in the DMAIC methodology.
  • Experience managing/mentoring other associates including green belts, Lean Practitioners are required.
  • Experience presenting to groups including Manager and Executive levels.
  • High proficiency in MS office tools, Visio, Minitab or JMP

Preferred Skills:

  • MBA or equivalent is a plus.
