Senior Construction Project Manager

Summary

Our construction business is looking for an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager (PM) for new projects for our Federal Government clientele. The ideal candidate’s will oversee each project from conception to completion, interfacing with both construction professionals and the client. The candidate must have extensive experience reading and reviewing drawings and specifications. The position includes benefits, competitive salary and paid time off. The job includes both hands-on and administrative duties.

Responsibilities & Duties

Pre-Construction

  • Assist estimator with bidding new jobs
  • Create the schedule for each project and match talent to the jobs

Project Execution

  • Negotiate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Oversees subcontractors’ quality of work and coordination among trades
  • Identifies and resolves all issues and changes, including processing RFIs and change orders
  • Assures that job site safety and security systems are in place and operating
  • Assures that all materials are delivered properly and on time (submittal and procurement procedures)
  • Conduct meetings on-site with architect, client and construction crew

Schedule Management

  • Coordinate all utility shutdowns, building penetrations, and security impacts
  • Develops, monitors, and updates project schedule
  • Oversees subcontractor schedules

Cost Control

  • Establishes and manages project specific cost control system
  • Monitors cost reports for adherence to budgets
  • Approves payments to subcontractors

Communications

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with all project participants (e.g., Owner and Owner’s representative, design professionals, subcontractors)
  • Establishes, manages, and sees that project specific information systems are maintained.
  • Coordinates site activities with office activities
  • Communicates schedule revisions to all parties, as appropriate
  • Communicates cost control status and issues to DuBois management in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Must pass Federal background test to obtain HSPD-12 badge for Federal projects
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test
  • Experience in serving as a Construction Project Manager of Federal projects
  • Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings, specifications and plan sets
  • Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures
  • Experience with construction paperwork, i.e., RFI’s, submittals, change orders
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment
  • Extensive experience in managing large construction projects (projects over $1,000,000.00 are required)
  • Proficient in Windows Operations Systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Project etc.)
  • Experience with design-build contracts

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
