Summary:
Assists supervisor with the direction and coordination of the activities of workers engaged in a specific discipline of laboratory tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis, treatment and research; provides technical supervision and training to subordinate-level staff members; performs simple and complex laboratory test procedures in a timely manner as assigned; obtains and interprets data for diagnosis and treatment of disease; performs related laboratory technology duties.

Starting salary for this position is $74,183 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications

1. Possession of a full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York and the equivalent of six(6) years of full-time experience in the specific laboratory discipline; or
2. Bachelor’s degree in medical or clinical laboratory technology or a related discipline, eligibility for full licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time experience in the specific laboratory discipline.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have quality assurance and quality control training/experience, training or experience with maintaining established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and compliance standards, training or experience with maintaining proficiency testing programs with regulatory agencies, and training or experience with maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies such as NYSDOH, FDA, and the Joint Commission. They will also have experience with creating and/or maintaining/reviewing preventative maintenance programs for instrumentation used for testing, and 3-5 years experience working with next generation sequencing (NGS) platform(s) and establishing/maintaining quality metrics associated with such platform(s), organizational skills and strong attention to detail along with excellent written and verbal communication, previous leadership and excellent customer service experience.
