POSITION OVERVIEW

The IT Financial Management Procurement and Vendor Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining processes and procedures related to vendor management, including vendor selection, contract negotiation and management, vendor performance management, and vendor relationship management. This individual must ensure that all relevant processes and procedures are properly documented, and that all vendors provide the highest quality of services and products, at the most competitive prices. The IT Financial Management Procurement and Vendor Manager must also ensure that all contracts are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations. This individual must provide guidance and training to staff members on vendor management activities, and review and analyze vendor performance on an ongoing basis. The ideal candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, sound decision-making abilities, and a strong understanding of financial processes and procedures. The ability to work with a variety of stakeholders and vendors is also essential.

LOCATION

This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street Omaha, NE.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifying potential suppliers: Conducting market research, evaluating supplier capabilities, and identifying potential suppliers who can meet the organization's needs.
  • Negotiating contracts: Developing and negotiating contracts with suppliers that ensure the organization receives the best possible pricing and terms.
  • Managing supplier relationships: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, monitoring their performance, and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Monitoring market trends: Staying up to date with market trends and changes in the industry to ensure that the organization is using the most innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Developing sourcing strategies: Developing and implementing sourcing strategies that align with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Analyzing data: Analyzing spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities, monitor supplier performance, and track savings achieved through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders: Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as procurement, finance, and operations teams, to ensure that sourcing decisions are aligned with the organization's overall business strategy.
  • Ensuring compliance: Ensuring that all sourcing activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT, Compliance, Risk Management, or related field or minimum three (5) years’ experience in Business, Finance, IT, or asset management related field.
  • 5 years of experience working with software requests, licensing and licensing databases preferred
  • Experience with ERP, Procurement and Asset Management tools preferred
Non- Technical Skills
  • IT lifecycle experience (vendor assessment, contracting, performance management and decommissioning)
  • Inquisitive nature
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with an eye for details
  • Highly motivated with a desire to work in a technical role closely aligned with business
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience negotiating with IT vendors required
