We are seeking a Senior Automation Test Engineer to join the Bright Horizons EdAssist Solutions engineering team where you will be an integral part of a Scrum team in an agile environment.

Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail oriented and can work at an efficient pace. We require strong Selenium and Cypress automation experience using Java and JavaScript and the skills necessary for working closely with our Business Partners and developers during all aspects of the development process. You are expected to be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the engineering process to help establish standards and best practices for other members of the testing team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute test cases manually; capture and analyze test results, and document issues
  • Write detailed test cases based on acceptance criteria and other areas of risk from new feature implementation
  • Understand the business aspects, as well as the ways the customers are using the system; and check if the system is performing as it should be
  • Work with Business Partners, Developers and stakeholders, help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Provide quality engineering support in project design, development, and implementation phases
  • Contribute to the success of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by meeting quality and delivery standards set forth by the Principal QEs, Team Leads, and Managers
  • Design & develop automated test cases using Selenium and Cypress and develop high-quality automation test engineering best practices, test strategies, and principles
  • Conduct peer code reviews to help maintain an efficient and effective test automation suite
  • Run and respond to automated smoke test failures
  • Participate in production release testing
  • Implement more efficient ways to test features and identify areas of testing that can be automated.
  • Participate in design reviews and recommend improvements
  • Maintain and execute performance tests, analyze and report results and recommendations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technology field with 3+ years’ work experience in Engineering and/or Quality Assurance, OR 5+ years’ related Quality Engineering experience
  • Advanced experience with data driven testing using excel, csv or SQL databases
  • 2+ years of experience with Maven, Git/GitHub/Bitbucket and version control processes
  • Experience contributing to a test automation suite using one or more test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Cypress or Selenium) with BDD using Gherkin
  • Expert in developing automated API test scripts with industry tools, including Rest Assured, SoapUI, Postman
  • Advanced level programming experience in Java
  • 2+ years’ experience of JavaScript language and experience with a front-end JavaScript End to End framework (preferably as a part of a Modern Front-End Framework like Vue, React, Angular, etc.)
  • Advanced experience with Apache POI
  • Experience creating and maintaining a Performance Test suite with the ability to run and understand results
  • Experience working with DevOps teams to evolve automated software builds, regression testing, and release management processes of the CICD pipeline using Jenkins, BrowserStack/ BrowserStack
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess data flows and identify root causes of identified issues
  • Proven design, coding, and hands-on debugging skills
  • Dedication to working in a collaborative team environment following defined process standards with the ability to remain positive even during fast-paced, potentially stressful situations
  • Requires excellent organizational, time management, communication, and prioritization skills
  • This is a remote role with a preference for a local candidate who can go into the office in a hybrid capacity.

The compensation range for this position is $86,250 - $120,000.
