DENSO is looking for an Advanced Accounting Analyst in their Southfield, MI location.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs advanced accounting functions including monthly account reconciliations, monitoring certain monthly accruals and preparing journal entries in order to ensure proper reporting financials.
• Support month end close process as well as quarterly and annual year close and reporting to parent company including quarterly review by external auditors.
• Monitors balance sheet for potential future profits and loss impact.
• Performs complex analysis such as warranty accruals, in transit inventory calculations, cost of goods sold by affiliate calculations, prepaid expense accruals and deferrals and other ad-hoc analysis.
• Ensures internal controls are operating correctly with the goal of zero deficiencies through JSOX auditing.
• Performs financial analysis and assists in financial reporting activities in order to ensure proper recording of transactions and accurate monthly financial statements.
• Manage intercompany balances for specified affiliates including performing more complex intercompany account reconciliation.
• Assists with process improvement activities.
• Acts as a liaison between internal departments and other DENSO locations in order to resolve outstanding issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 3 or more years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS is required, along with an understanding of current accounting operational structure (financial close, J-SOX, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Oracle Cloud systems, JD Edwards or other AS400 platform
• Advanced skills in Excel including formulas such as V lookup, pivot tables
• Automotive industry and inventory management experience
• Minimum Level of Knowledge and Skills Required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss or transmit primarily factual information to internal and external customers in the normal course of performing duties
• Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible
• Customer service skills to display a service-oriented attitude in addressing and responding to customer issues

Salary:

• $63,900 - $72,000
