Overview:
As Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for a full range of daily accounting operations and analysis activities managing the company’s outsourcing services, including balance sheet and cashflow forecast, banking management, incorporating the company’s accounting policy and guidance. Reporting to the Head of Finance in financial close activities, Accounting Manager assists accounting outsourcing service, financial planning and analysis team, management, and other business partners by providing decision support to the business. the senior analyst performs variance analyses in addition to manage various management reporting and communication to senior management.

This position is hybrid based in our Hanover Park, IL office.

The successful candidate will use deep understanding of objectives, issues and root causes and provide insightful, fact-based data analysis to help solve complex problems. Taking initiatives on providing analytical support; conducts research as required, shares skills and knowledge with colleagues - helps to develop others, coaches new or more junior associates. Business partnering with Key Stakeholders to align on business priorities and drive effective solutions/execution. Build working relationships with management and other internal business partners in support of key priorities and objectives through complex analytics. Establishes and maintains consistent financial operational policies and procedures to govern related practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire accounting operations closely working with 5+ individuals of accounting outsourcing service
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close processes closely working with tax and other shared service providers
  • Oversee the corporate consolidation and consolidated reporting package
  • Oversee banking transactions and update monthly cash forecast
  • Define and agree Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with "in scope" activates and processes including KPIs, and performance measurements
  • Proactively manage and monitor overall outsourcing service performance to drive accuracy and timeliness of all deliverables
  • Ensuring data integrity in intercompany settlement timelines and ensure all related intercompany policies are met
  • Coach and encourage the team for continuous improvement that ensures effective business process flows and complies to standard operating procedures
  • Maintain strong controls ensuring all internal/external audit, company and statutory requirements are complied with
  • Support new service/product launches; understand cost drivers, effective business and accounting processes, and profitability
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and initiatives

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in accounting, finance or a related
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting
  • 2 years of managerial experience in a public or private company
  • 4+ years of GL accounting experience including preparation of journal entries and performing period end close procedures and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Excellent knowledge of GAAP and complete understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Strong PC skills: highly proficient in other MS Office tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, and others) required.
  • Preferences are CPA

  • Ability to read, interpret, and synthesize conclusions from financial statements using a grasp of financial and managerial accounting concepts.
  • Must possess strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen and ability to present to senior management
  • Strong data analytical skill with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail - Ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives, and recommend sound decisions using tables and charts.
  • Flexible, ad-hoc projects orientation coupled with solid multi-tasking abilities
  • Hands-on team player with excellent interpersonal and effective communication / writing skills.
  • Strong aptitude to learn and self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment.
